The NavBot-EG01 is an 8-degree-of-freedom (8-DOF) desktop quadruped robot dog, purpose-built for STEM education in middle schools, high schools, and vocational institutions. Centered on the philosophy of “helping students truly understand how robots move and think,” it simplifies mechanical complexity to emphasize core learning principles, enabling hands-on exploration of programming, engineering, mathematics, and introductory AI.
Unlike high-DOF research platforms, the NavBot-EG01 adopts a streamlined 2-DOF per side leg design (total 8 DOF) — front legs control forward/backward swing and lift, while rear legs use simplified planar motion. This balanced structure maintains basic walking capability while significantly reducing control complexity, making it ideal for beginners to learn joint coordination, gait generation, and balance control.
